Rivian R1T Quad-Motor with Native NACS Port Leaked Ahead of Official Launch

Rivian’s upcoming 2026 R1T Quad-Motor pickup has made an unexpected early appearance—thanks to a now-deleted social media video from popular tech reviewer Marques Brownlee (MKBHD).

The brief clip, which was quickly removed, confirmed for the first time that Rivian’s flagship truck will come equipped with a native NACS (North American Charging Standard) port, making it the first Rivian to come with Tesla’s charging technology.

NACS Port Confirmed on R1T Quad

The inclusion of a NACS port means that Rivian drivers will soon be able to plug directly into Tesla’s expansive Supercharger network without needing an adapter. Rivian comfirmed in June 2023 its commitment to adopt NACS as standard across all R1 vehicles beginning in 2025.

This move puts Rivian ahead of the curve, as the EV industry steadily transitions toward NACS becoming the new North American standard. Until now, Rivian owners relied on Tesla-supplied adapters to access the Supercharger network.

With the R1T Quad, charging becomes simpler and faster, unlocking thousands of additional fast-charging options across North America.

R1T Quad-Motor: What We Know

The leaked footage showcased the R1T Quad in a unique Launch Green paint, accented with teal highlights on the Rivian logo, brake calipers, and special “Quad” badging. The design choices suggest this will be the highest-performance variant of the R1T yet.

The truck also features 22-inch ultra-high-performance wheels and a fun new Gear Guard Gary badge, highlighting Rivian’s continued focus on combining serious off-road and performance capabilities with distinctive character.

While full specifications have yet to be released, the return of the quad-motor powertrain—first seen on early R1T builds—is expected to deliver superior torque vectoring and all-terrain prowess.

It’s likely this new generation will also benefit from hardware and software improvements introduced with Rivian’s latest dual-motor and Max Pack configurations.

Launch Expected Soon

The timing of the leak from MKBHD—early June 2025—indicates Rivian may be preparing an official reveal of the R1T Quad later this month or in early July. With production potentially ramping up later this year, the Quad model will expand Rivian’s premium offerings just ahead of the upcoming R2 platform launch in 2026.

Stay tuned for Rivian’s official announcement, which is expected to include detailed specs, pricing, and delivery timelines for the R1T Quad.
